Laughton Sargeant is the executive director of the D.C. Caribbean Carnival, Inc. and spearheads the organization of the annual Carnival celebration which takes place in downtown DC. As leader of one of the leading soca bands on the East Coast, Image Band, Laughton has an intimate understanding of the importance of the Caribbean cultural heritage of Washington. Laughton works closely with the D.C. Caribbean community and is recognized internationally for his exceptional work in increasing awareness of Caribbean culture.
