Jan Du Plain is President and CEO of Du Plain Enterprises Inc.
Ms. Du Plain has over 30 years of experience and success in designing and implementing strategic communications programs, integrated public relations campaigns, creative special events, and innovative community relations programs.
Highlights of her career include designing and implementing a successful speakers program for the Smithsonian Institution's highly acclaimed 150th anniversary celebration on the national mall; garnering extensive press coverage for Broadway’s smash hit musical, CHICAGO, at the National Theater in Washington, DC; conducting successful publicity campaigns for the Washington, DC, openings of The National Building Museum, The Shakespeare Theater's "Sir John Gielgud Award," Robert Mondavi's American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts, and many others.

Prior to launching her own company in 1996, Ms. Du Plain was Director of Public Relations at WETA TV and Radio, Washington, DC, 1983-1995. As the primary media spokesperson for the third largest producer of programs for public television in the United States, she spearheaded Washington, DC publicity efforts for the world premiere of documentary filmmaker Ken Burns' multiple award-winning TV series, "The Civil War."

Ms. Du Plain, a graduate of the School of Public Affairs and Government, American University, Washington, D.C., has received many honors including PR Woman of the Year finalist (1996); Special Citations, First Women's National Leadership Training Institute, American University, Washington, DC; Advertising and Promotions Award, Public Broadcasting System (PBS); and Excellence Awards at the Gallup Leadership Institute and the Dale Carnegie Institute.
