At CariBeat Events, we believe that it is time to create a movement of change for the long term elevation of Haiti.
To elevate Haiti we must save the next generation - the children of Haiti. Out of the rubble will come Haiti's next President and next Prime Minister, future medical doctors and educators.
This kind of elevation requires a sustained movement, a conscious commitment to change. The way we accomplish this movement is to “wear the change”.

ABOUT Friends of the Orphans
Friends of the Orphans is a 40-year old non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children by supporting Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), a network of orphanages in Latin America and the Caribbean.
FACTS ABOUT NPH IN HAITI
Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, also known as Nos Petit Frères et Soeurs (NPFS) has two (2) distinct facilities in Haiti. Each year, more than 20,000 people, including NPH children, as well as children and adults from the surrounding area are treated at these facilities:
St. Damien Hospital:
- - The only free pediatric 120-bed hospital in Haiti.
- - St. Damien Hospital is located in Châteaublond, 25 miles form Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capital
St. Hélène:
- - A permanent home orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children
- - Features 15 acres, 19 residential cottages, chapel, farm and a primary school.
- - All furniture is made at the home
- - The home offers an “Orphanage to Work” program help helps youth adjust to life outside the orphanage and succeed in their jobs.
THE DAMAGE THAT Friends of the Orphans HAS SUFFERED DUE TO THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI
Because of the widespread destruction and extensive rescue effort throughout the areas impacted, financial aid is great.
- - Patients are being treated in tents set up outside the hospital, as well as inside the hospital in areas deemed structurally safe. There are currently two functioning operating rooms, and a team of NPH medical workers from around the world are working continually to treat victims.
- - The children at St. Hélène are still sleeping outside on the basketball court.
- - 75 children and youths in NPH’s St. John Bosco program that live with extended families will be relocated to St. Hélène because their homes were destroyed.
All donations made to Friends of the Orphans will be directly applied to needs of first responders such as first aid supplies, shipping of necessary materials to assist in efforts, and treating the injured.
- - Donations are being used to support the immediate needs of physicians and nurses treating hundreds of patients daily at St. Damien’s Hospital.
- - Aid is also being used for medical supplies, food, water and supplies critical to effectively treating patients. These supplies are being purchased by NPH Dominican Republic and transported directly to NPH/NPFS's St. Damien Hospital in Haiti.
